What information does BankAtlantic ask for and how is it used?

When you register for Online Banking, BankAtlantic will ask you for basic registration information, such as your name, address, social security, existing BankAtlantic account number(s), your city of birth (or business industry), mother's maiden name (or business license number), date of birth (or date founded), contact telephone numbers, a user ID and password which you choose, and an E-mail address for customer service. Additional information may be required to utilize value-added features of Online Banking, such as Funds Transfer, Telephone Banking, and Bill Pay, or to access specific third party Internet services such as BankAtlantic ShareBuilder. If you decide to open an account online, or when completing one of our customer surveys we will also ask you for basic registration information, such as the type of information highlighted above. We will use the above information for providing the services and/or accessing the sites you select on your behalf, monitoring and improving our existing products and services, or for purposes of offering new product and service information of interest to you.

As with most online businesses, BankAtlantic logs information about access to its website, including the IP addresses from which a user came to the site in order to diagnose problems with the server, administer the BankAtlantic.com site, and to aggregate statistical data. Will I be contacted if I register for Online Banking with BankAtlantic?

BankAtlantic will occasionally contact users by telephone, electronic or regular mail to inform them of new features, to request participation in market surveys, or to inform users of BankAtlantic.com and partner promotions. However, BankAtlantic does offer an opt-out option to users signing up for Online Banking who do not wish to receive such messages. In order to ensure the quality of the Online Banking service, BankAtlantic will send certain types of messages from which users will not be able to opt-out. These may include, "A Welcome Notice" to confirm new membership, "notifications" of password changes or "Account lockouts" and other "customer satisfaction" and "customer service" issues. Information users provide is used to better customize the experience for each customer so that we can present new products and services that are better suited to your individual interests.

Customer data is stored in encrypted format in our Internet Banking database, and is transmitted in that encrypted format within the network. Should you forget your password you will need to call our customer care department toll-free at 1-800-741-1700 so that it may be reset for you.
