President's Message

On behalf of our colleagues, Welcome to Miami-Dade!

For those of you not familiar with the area let me introduce you to Miami-Dade County – the most populous county in all of Florida! Years ago, Miami earned the nickname “The Magic City” due to its rapid growth in population and large building boom that cause the city to change so drastically from year to year, but there’s even more magic beyond the expanding skyline.

Many people tend to associate “Miami” with glamorous South Beach inspired images found in popular television, magazines or movies, but Miami-Dade County has much more to offer. The international city of Miami is a global center for commerce, finance, trade, arts & entertainment and is home to three of Florida’s major professional sports teams, the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and Florida Marlins.

The City of Miami has the unique distinction of being the only city in America to border two national parks. Biscayne National Park lies to the east and the Everglades National Park borders the west. Perhaps this abundance of green space is what helped Miami earn recognition as “America’s Cleanest City” in 2008?

Beyond the 10 miles of white sand beaches Miami-Dade is a diverse cultural oasis with neighborhoods, such as Little Havana or Little Haiti, that offer a little Caribbean experience to all who visit. For those who love art or architecture – take a stroll through the Art Deco District, Wynwood Art District or visit one of the many museums and cultural centers.
