What are Personal Wire Transfers?

A Personal Wire Transfer is an electronic payment sent via your BankAtlantic Online Banking service for transferring funds from your personal checking, savings or money market account to another account at any financial institution within the United States.

How do I apply for Wire Transfers?

To Enroll:

1. Logon to Online Banking & Bill Pay
2. Click on Additional Services
3. Click on the Enroll for Wire Transfers link
4. Complete/Sign/Fax or Mail the Enrollment Form* to BankAtlantic

Your request will be processed within 3 business days and you will receive confirmation by email using the email address we have on file within your Online Banking service.

 

How do I make a Wire Transfer?

From within the Payment Center:

1. Click Wire Entry where you will be presented a list of payees that you created
2. Select the date to process your wire
3. Enter the wire transfer amount
4. Select which account to pay from
5. Click Submit

You can pay multiple payees at one time. You will need to verify the information and click Submit again to send the wire(s) to BankAtlantic for processing.

What are payees?


Payees contain the outgoing wiring instructions used to process your outgoing wire transfer. Once you have the payee created, you only need to select which payee to send a wire transfer and enter the date and amount. There is no restriction in the number of payees you can create, and you can edit or delete payees as needed.

How do I create a payee?

From within the Payment Center:

1. Click Payee Setup
2. Click Add Payee
3. Enter the Payee Name and select the checkbox for “Wires”
4. Enter the remaining wire instruction information as provided to you
5. Click Add to save the Payee

What is the Transit Routing #?

The Transit Routing # is the 9-digit number assigned to the bank by the American Bankers Association (ABA) and is used for routing transit transactions (i.e., ACH, Wire, etc.). NOTE: Do not add hyphens when entering the Transit Routing #.

What is the Intermediary Institution Information used for?

Some financial institutions may use an intermediary bank to process their wire transfers. BankAtlantic recommends that you validate with the receiving party if their financial institution falls under this category.

When can I send a Wire Transfer?

You can enter and submit a Personal Wire Transfer via your BankAtlantic Online Banking service between 12:01 AM - 5:00PM Eastern, Monday - Friday (excluding holidays)

What does it cost to send a Wire Transfer?

The cost is only $15.00 per wire when sending your wire through your BankAtlantic Online Banking service.

Can I send Personal Wire Transfers via my Mobile Banking?

This service is currently unavailable via Mobile Banking.

What information do I need to set up a payee?

It is strongly recommended that you or the receiving party contact the receiving financial institution for their specific wiring instructions.

When building the payee, you will need to enter the following information:
1. Payee Name
2. Account Name
3. Account Number
4. Routing Number of the Receiving Financial Institution The Payee Address and Additional Information fields are optional.






How will I know when my transfer has been processed?

Once your wire transfer has been processed, you will be able to see that your account has been debited by viewing your “Account Detail” within your Online Banking service.
