BankAtlantic Names R. Mark Manitz Chief Retail Banking Executive

Ft. Lauderdale, FL: September 18, 2007: BankAtlantic, Florida’s Most Convenient Bank, announced today that it has named Mark Manitz to its Executive Management Committee as Chief Retail Banking Executive. Manitz will be responsible for overseeing BankAtlantic’s store network, which now includes over 100 stores throughout the State of Florida.

Manitz has 25 years experience in banking, most recently as President and CEO of Bank of Florida, Southeast. Prior to that, he spent the majority of his career at Bank of America where he held numerous positions including Market President for Southwest Florida, Florida Business Banking Executive, National Small Business Lending Executive and National Consumer Loan Center Executive.

“Mark brings to BankAtlantic 25 years of local and national bank experience which will be instrumental in managing our store network,” said Jarett Levan, President and CEO of BankAtlantic. “His banking experience is a tremendous compliment to our management team.”

Manitz serves the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society as a board member and finance committee member and is also a board member and finance committee member for Jack and Jill’s Children’s Center. He earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 1984 from the University of South Florida. Mantiz holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate from Florida State University.
