Ft. Lauderdale, FL – April 17, 2007 - BankAtlantic, one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Florida, has inaugurated its 100th ship-based automated teller machine (ATM). Carnival Cruise Lines’ newest Fun Ship, “Carnival Freedom,” features the 100th seafaring unit from NCR.
The NCR Personas 77 and its two additional Personas 77 on-board shipmates, offers passengers and crew alike the convenience of anytime banking, anywhere their travels may take them. BankAtlantic pioneered the concept of linking satellite communications technology with ATMs in a shipboard environment in 1995, and then launched its first nautical ATM placements over 10 years ago. Carnival Freedom was officially named in ceremonies recently taking place in Venice this month and is currently embarked on its inaugural season of Mediterranean cruises. The amenity-rich, 110,000-ton Fun Ship will carry up to 3,700 guests on European, Transatlantic and Eastern and Western Caribbean routes.
