BankAtlantic Volunteer’s Team Up With the Pantry of Broward, Inc. To Support Broward County Seniors

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. – August 14, 2009 – BankAtlantic, Florida’s Most Convenient Bank, announced today that BankAtlantic employees have volunteered to team up with the Pantry of Broward in support of Broward County seniors on August 19, 2009.

Volunteers from BankAtlantic will join the efforts of The Pantry of Broward by unpacking and sorting donated boxes of food. BankAtlantic volunteers will also help pack food boxes to be distributed to The Pantry's elderly seniors and grandparents in our community.

“Many seniors in Broward County are on fixed income of less than $800 per month and have to make an impossible choice between buying food or medicine,” commented Jarett Levan, CEO of BankAtlantic. “The Pantry of Broward provides food and support services to seniors in need, on low incomes, and to grandparents raising grandchildren. We are very pleased that BankAtlantic volunteers are making a concerted effort to support both the seniors and children of our community,” he added.

New clients meet with a Pantry of Broward case manager to help smooth out other issues they may be struggling with such as problems with Social Security, food stamps, dental care, eye care, learning how to use debit cards, computers, and even hairstyling, ” concluded Loughan.
