BANKATLANTIC APPOINTS CHARLES MORTON TO BRANCH MANAGER

          FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. – June 16, 2009 – BankAtlantic, Florida’s Most Convenient Bank, announced the appointment of Charles Morton to Manager of its Galt Ocean Mile location in Fort Lauderdale.
         With six years of banking experience, Mr. Morton will manage the daily operations of the “Galt Ocean Mile” branch location in Fort Lauderdale. He is also responsible for retail banking and small to medium-sized business development in the surrounding marketplace.
         “You cannot be in a successful relationship at ‘arms-length.’ You have to be directly involved and Charles is at his best when directly involved with the individual and business customers of his market area,” said Jarett Levan, CEO of BankAtlantic. “Charles has received various company awards both individually and on behalf of his branch for excellence in customer service.”
         Mr. Morton serves on various committees for charitable organizations, including as a committee co-chair of Emerge Broward - a program of Leadership Broward Foundation, Inc.; Treasurer of the Museum of Art/Ft Lauderdale, Young Benefactors; and a volunteer teacher with KAPOW (Kids and the Power of Work). Charles has been recognized as an Emerge Broward Project Manager of the Quarter and received the KAPOW Gold Award for two years of volunteer service. Mr. Morton holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BA in Spanish.
