BANKATLANTIC NAMES MICHAEL SHALLENBURG REGIONAL MANAGER OF TAMPA BAY MARKET

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – April 23, 2009 -- BankAtlantic, Florida’s Most Convenient Bank, announced today the appointment of Michael Shallenburg to a regional manager of the Tampa Bay market. In his new role, Shallenburg is responsible for overseeing operations of nine BankAtlantic stores in the Tampa Bay area.

Shallenburg has more than 20 years of management experience. Most recently, he was a manager for BankAtlantic in St. Petersburg. He is an active member of the community, serving as a member for both the Northeast Exchange Club and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Shallenburg holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.
