BANKATLANTIC VOLUNTEERS TEAM UP WITH THE KIDS ECOLOGY CORPS
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – March 12, 2009 – BankAtlantic, “Florida’s Most Convenient Bank”, today announced that BankAtlantic employees have volunteered to team up with the Kids Ecology Corps for a hands-on, eco-action day at the John U. Lloyd Beach State Park in Dania.
Volunteers from BankAtlantic and the Kids Ecology Corps will plant sea oats along the shore of Dania Beach to help conserve our local beaches and prevent continued erosion. They will also plant red mangroves to create new fish and wildlife habitats. Further, Kids Ecology Corps staff, local park rangers, and naturalists will educate the volunteers about the challenges facing our natural areas and how the preservation of our local natural habitats and beaches benefits both wildlife and humans.
“Volunteers are not paid, however their contributions are priceless and make a profound difference,” commented Jarett S. Levan, President and CEO of BankAtlantic. “The well-being of our natural habitats and beaches is vital to our collective future and is the responsibility of every individual. BankAtlantic employees are committed to serving their community and are very pleased to team up with the Kids Ecology Corps.”
